Our 2009 Ph.D. graduate, Dr. Zeynep Yücel, has received Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship. She is one of two young researchers to receive the fellowship in the field of engineering science this year. The fellowship provides funding and research resources for a period of 3 years.
Dr. Yücel is currently working as a research scientist at Intelligent Robotics and Communication Laboratories, Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International in Japan. Her research interests are computer vision, motion modelling, human-robot interaction, joint attention modelling, head pose and gaze direction estimation.
