The Bachelor of Science Program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering has the following vision, mission, and objectives:

Vision.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department will provide a program of the highest quality to produce leader engineers who can address the challenges of the new century and excel at an international level.

Mission Statement.

With this vision, the mission of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is to provide its graduates with the knowledge and skills needed for high quality engineering work as well as advanced engineering research and to equip its graduates with a broad intellectual spectrum in order to prepare them for diverse and competitive career paths.

Program Objectives.

The following educational objectives of Bilkent University, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (BU-EEE) undergraduate program refer to the achievements of our graduates 3-5 years after graduation. These objectives are determined in consultation with the various constituencies of the BU-EEE program and approved by the departmental board.

  1. BU-EEE graduates will have employment in academia, or industry, or government organizations, or will become entrepreneurs, in diverse fields based on the broad education the program provides.
  2. BU-EEE graduates will continue professional development through vehicles such as pursuing advanced degrees in diverse fields, attending workshops or conferences, obtaining professional certifications.
  3. BU-EEE graduates will be able to function in national, or international, or multicultural organizations.
Student Outcomes. a. an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
b. an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
c. an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
d. an ability to function on multidisciplinary teams
e. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
f. an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
g. an ability to communicate effectively
h. the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
i. a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning
j. a knowledge of contemporary issues
k. an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
