Project Abstract

BEKO AirTouch is a contactless dishwasher control interface enabling menu navigation and program selection via hand gestures for Beko. The system evaluates three sensing technologies—Infrared, ToF, and mmWave radar—for optimal cost and performance. An STM32 microcontroller serves as the core, utilizing CNN algorithms for ToF spatial data and FMCW signal processing for mmWave radar analysis. Key features include a 35 cm distance gating mechanism for high gesture detection accuracy, a gesture-based child lock, and an OLED display with under 50ms latency, operating as a standalone unit communicating with the dishwasher mainboard via UDAQ.
