Signal Processing

In the 21th Century, we are witnessing  an ever increasing pace of technological development. In our daily life, we are now surrounded by sensors of a wide variety which generates data at an amazing rate. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) aims to model sensor systems and extract useful information from the acquired data. Mathematics and statistics form the foundation on which DSP techniques are being developed. A successful DSP researcher should not only know how to extract the desired results from the available data, but also be able to implement it under practical constraints that includes available energy, processing power and delay tolerance.

At the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Bilkent University, we are providing a wide range of education in both theory and practice of DSP. Under the supervision of well known academicians of their field, our graduate students have the chance of conducting research at the frontiers of DSP. The cutting edge research conducted in our research groups attracts funding from both industry and government.
