The Bachelor of Science Program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering has the following vision, mission, and objectives:

Vision

Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department will provide a program of the highest quality to produce leader engineers who can address the challenges of the new century and excel at an international level.

Mission Statement

With this vision, the mission of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is to provide its graduates with the knowledge and skills needed for high-quality engineering work as well as advanced engineering research and to equip its graduates with a broad intellectual spectrum in order to prepare them for diverse and competitive career paths.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO):
PEO1. BU-EEE (Bilkent University – Electrical and Electronics Engineering) graduates will have successful careers in academia, industry, or government organizations, or as entrepreneurs, and will become innovators in diverse fields based on their broad education at BU-EEE and the critical thinking abilities that the program fosters.
PEO2. BU-EEE graduates will continue professional development, pursue advanced degrees in prestigious graduate schools, and cultivate professional responsibility and ethical awareness among their colleagues.

PEO3. BU-EEE graduates will provide solutions to important real-world problems and become leaders in multidisciplinary and culturally diverse work environments.

Student Outcomes

(SO1) An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
(S02) An ability to identify engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
(SO3) An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
(SO4) An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
(S05) An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
(S06) An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
(SO7) An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
