Dr. Melih Baştopçu joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Bilkent University as an Assistant Professor in September 2024. His research interests are in the age of information, wireless communications, resource allocation, low latency systems, communication network design, and information theory.
Melih Bastopcu received his B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, Turkey in June 2016. He completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, MD, USA, in 2020 and 2021, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Coordinated Science Laboratory at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2021 till 2024 where he worked jointly with Prof. Rasoul Etesami and Prof. Tamer Bașar. His research focus is on age of information, wireless communications, resource allocation, low latency systems, communication network design, and strategic information transmission.
