Our graduate student, Ahmet Arif Aslan, along with his advisor, Asst. Prof. Erdinc Tatar won the best paper award at “The 39th International Conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (IEEE MEMS 2026)” in Salzburg, Austria, between 25-29 January 2026. IEEE MEMS is the premier international conference in the field of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS). Mr. Aslan and Dr. Tatar’s paper was among the 4 award winners out of more than 400 papers presented at the conference. The paper is entitled “No-drift mode-matched ring gyroscope with on-chip stress and temperature calibration”. Their work, funded by Dr. Tatar’s ERC (European Research Council) 0-drift project, solves the challenging MEMS gyroscope temperature drift problem through on-chip stress calibration.
