Prof. Vakur Behçet Ertürk received the 2020 Bilkent University Distinguished Teaching Award, which is a university wide award for sustained outstanding teaching and mentorship.
Prof. Ertürk joined Bilkent University in 2001 after receiving the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1993, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, in 1996 and 2000, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Bilkent University, Ankara. His current research interests include computational electromagnetics with an emphasis on fast solutions of integral equations, wireless sensors for structural health monitoring, the design and analysis of conformal antennas and arrays, printed circuits, and design and analysis of metamaterial based absorbers.
Dr. Erturk was the Secretary/Treasurer of the IEEE Turkey Section and the Turkey Chapter of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation, Microwave Theory and Techniques, Electron Devices, and Electromagnetic Compatibility Societies. He was the recipient of the 2005 URSI Young Scientisit and the 2007 Turkish Academy of Sciences Distinguished Young Scientist Awards.
