Our graduate Ali Kara (BSc’ 2016) received the 2022 Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society (CAIMS) Doctoral Dissertation Award.
Ali received his PhD from Queen’s University in 2021, and is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. His research is on stochastic control theory, non-linear filtering theory, and learning theory.
