Bilkent University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has a pioneering position in the country with its strong educational program resting on mathematical foundations and world-renown faculty in the domain of artificial intelligence and machine learning. We offer our undergraduate students a comprehensive portfolio of courses that cover the areas of machine learning, neural networks, data science, as well as image processing, language processing, biomedical and robotics. Our faculty members develop innovative machine learning technologies for addressing current problems in recommender systems, healthcare, 5G communication, cybersecurity, emergency services, natural language processing, robotics, and social networks. Bilkent EEE faculty members and their undergraduate and graduate advisees publish their work in forthcoming journals such as IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, Nature Neuroscience, Natural Language Engineering, Neural Networks, Journal of Neuroscience, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, and prestigious conferences including Advances in Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS), Annual Meeting of Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM), International Conference on Advances in Computer-Human Interactions (ACHI), International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTATS) ve International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR). In the last 4 years, our faculty members have published in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning over 60 journal and over 30 conference papers. Our research programs in this area are being supported by major public and private institutions including TUBITAK, European Commission, EMBO, nVidia, and ASELSAN; and over 30 students are participating in these programs.
